History

Established in 1910, the Bide-A-Wee Restaurant on North Gower’s main street has been under new ownership and management as of May 31, 2007.

NewspaperJason Moore, a native of the town of North Gower, and Steve Moffatt of  the neighbouring village of Kars, re-opened the historic restaurant  in July 2007. Together they possess more than 30 years of industry  experience which they have directed towards transforming the Bide-A-Wee into the Marlborough Pub & Eatery, bestowing upon the residents of North Gower and surrounding areas both a family restaurant and a local watering hole close to home.

The structure underwent a make-over in June 2006, converting the dilapidated interior into a tasteful restaurant/pub while maintaining the historical essence of the site. One side of building will operate as a family restaurant, while the other will cater to local pub-goers. Moffatt and Moore plan to bring back the old-fashioned take-out window to sell ice cream.
